What is a Weekend Break package?
A Weekend Break package comes in an elegant case containing several programme cards that describe and illustrate all the services included in the break package, as well as the vouchers that are to be used during your stay. All addresses and directions as well as the phone numbers of the hotels are indicated.

How long are the Weekend Break packages valid and can one use them other than on weekends?
The Weekend Break packages are valid for six, twelve or heighteen months from purchase. This has to be choosen when purchasing.
They can be used every day of the week, weekends included, depending on availability.
How does the Weekend Break package work?
To give a Weekend Break package is to give unique and luxurious vacations in an
outstanding hotel, with gourmet meals and an enthralling discovery of the wine
estates of Bordeaux, including wine-tastings. No additional expenses will be
required from the recipient of the gift (Appart personnal expenses, all
transports and possible extras, such as the wines of the meals). The person
receiving the gift then reserves specific travel dates directly on our web
site.
I want to travel at a specific date. Can I be sure booking will be accepted at that date?
Just send us an email at reservation@weekendbreak.fr with the package reference, the day of arrival and your details. We will check for availability, pre-book a stay for you and we will then contact you to confirm it. You can then purchase online the package you want while being sure to travel on the day you want.
How long in advance do have I to book to hold my stay?
From ten days to three months in advance.
I booked a date to enjoy my Weekend Break but I have a last minute difficulty.
What can I do?
Send us an email as soon as possible at changementdedate@weekendbreak.fr and specify when you were to come and
when you would prefer to come. You can change dates at no additional expense
once. After two changes, the package is no longer valid.
We cannot accept change requests that are received less than ten full days
before the confirmed dates.
Is it possible to stay several consecutive nights in the same hotel if several
identical stays are bought?
Absolutely! It will be necessary to provide the reference number from each of
the packages when booking on line.
Does one have to confirm the schedules time of arrival to the various partners?
No. The schedules times of arrival are provided with the case and to the
partners.
If a partner (restaurant, castle) wishes to change a schedule, you would be
warned directly (by email and or telephone) before your arrival.
If you wish to modify the schedules near a restaurant, ask the reception of the
hotel to give it a call before the schedule time of arrival. Other schedules
are not modifiable.
If you wish to cancel a visit to a château, proceed the same way: ask the
reception desk of the hotel to give a warning call as soon as possible before
the hour envisaged for the visit.
Hotels await you. Usually, check-in starts from 3:30 pm. If you wish to arrive
earlier, it is preferable to check for such possible before. On the opposite,
if you think of arriving late, it is recommended to indicate your approximate
hour of arrival.
Are there additional expenses?
The price includes all the services described in the package: the recipient
thus has no further required expenses. No unexpected surprises!
Some items are not included in the package. Drinks during the meals and other "extras" that are not described in our guide will result in additional charges.
Transportation to and from Bordeaux and transfers within and around Bordeaux
are not included in the price of the package. The recipient of a Weekend Break
package should bring his own vehicle or hire one. Several car-hire
opportunities are presented at
www.weekendbreak.fr.
What really is a "château" in the Bordeaux area?
When talking of wine, a "château" is not always a castle! A wine estate,
when located in the area of controlled origin of Bordeaux (a 'Bordeaux', a
'Bordeaux Supérieur', a 'Margaux', a 'St. Emilion'...) has the traditional
right to give its property the name "château".
In some cases, it really is a fantastic château: some photos on the cards
that you will receive with the case prove it.
Other "châteaux" are not exactly the common idea of a château...
At Weekend Break, the estates you are going to visit are mostly real "châteaux", including some where there used to be knights and dungeons
centuries ago, even before there was a single vine planted!
The rare "châteaux" that does not look as such have been selected because
they are worth visiting and their wine is worth tasting.
(This explanation could be extended to the following warning: a good wine and
an interesting visit are not always had in a beautiful castle; and on the other
hand, the greatest wines and the most unforgettable visits can definitively
come from poor looking buildings.)
The cooking lessons only take place on Saturday mornings: why?
It is really hearth breaking for the chef of one or more gourmet restaurants not
to be personally present amongst the kitchen staff. Quality rely on them and
their natural drive lead them to remain present.
However, in order to give us access to their talent and knowledge and to offer
cooking classes to those who wish it, some chiefs have agreed to spend one
morning per week for a cooking lesson. This gives even more value to the
sessions.
Can I pay for my package on your site without any risk?
Yes, payment on Internet is secure. We have chosen the secure solution of
PAYBOX and the CCSO bank, subsidiary of HSBC, the first bank in the world. The
transmission of information of payment is encrypted and protected (protocol SSL
3, the standard used by nearly all e-trade web sites.) Your payment data are
always encrypted before transmission on the Internet. Your card number will
never be communicated to us. We do not store any banking data. We do not sell
or rent our data base.

Are there particular restrictions for these stays?
Weekend Break guests must have reached legal age in their own country and must
be at least 18 years.
In addition, pregnant women are strongly advised against break packages.
(because of wine tastings and physical activities; in addition, the "Spa" offers are not available for pregnant women).
Access to the golf courses is restricted to people who already play golf.
In most cases, no other conditions are required. Guests should bring their own
equipment and clothing for their chosen activities (such as a bathing suit,
golf shoes, golf clubs).
Thalassotherapy or spa centres may ask you to visit their doctor on the spot.
Are there packages reserved exclusively for women or for men?
No.
Can one be accompanied by children?
No, but enjoy this opportunity! (We love children too, but these packages are for
adults only.)
Are animals accepted in the various establishments?
It is better to come without pets.
Each Weekend Break presentation specifies whether pets are allowed in the
hotels and restaurants. In some cases, pets will result in a supplemental
charge.
Pets are not permitted at any golf course, Thalassotherapy or Spa centre,
cooking lesson, or wine estates.
How long should I expect delivery of my break package to take after I place my
order?
Around three days in France, four to ten days in Europe.
An email will be sent to you after the order is received and when we ship the
package; it contains the serial number of your order and a Colissimo® shipping code: you can thus follow your parcel on the site
colissimo.
Can you deliver the box directly to its recipient?
Yes, the delivery address can be different from the billing address. An email
is sent to you when shipping, containing the Colissimo® code: you can thus
follow your parcel on the site
colissimo and know when it has arrived.
You can add a message when purchasing on line, it will be included with the
cover letter that accompanies the package.
I booked a date to enjoy my luxury weekend break package but I have an impediment at the last moment. What should I do?
Notify us as soon as possible by email to reservation@weekendbreak.fr specifying when you had to come and when you prefer to come. This date change causes fee of € 50 per stay.
No change is possible under fifteen days ahead of the agreed time.
I will not have the time to enjoy my luxury weekend break package before the expiry date. What can I do?
BEFORE EXPIRY DATE: Please contact us by email at reservation@weekendbreak.fr and tell us your order number and your code gift box (BDX. ..). We will offer to buy a three-month exension of your gift box for € 100.
AFTER THE EXPIRY DATE (OR SAME DAY): If the expiration date is exceeded, your gift is lost.
